Relationship Building For Dental Teams
RELATIONSHIPS ARE PART OF A STABLE FOUNDATION
As dental people we are familiar with the importance of a solid foundation. Most of us have used or at least heard the analogy of building a house on a solid foundation for our patients when explaining the need for healthy bone and gum tissue to support our dentistry. A strong foundation is also the starting point for successful, thriving dental practices aiming for long term stability. Trying to build a successful business with a team who isn't solid creates at the very least a shaky work environment.
The value of investing time into building relationships with your employees and strengthening their relationships with each other should not be underestimated.
Whether your end goal is higher productivity, less workplace stress or continued practice growth -
START with yourself... understanding your strengths, weaknesses and how you are wired to react in situations is the best place to start!
3 TESTS EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE
(links and my results below)
The nine point enneagram symbol represents 9 distinct strategies for relating to the self, others and the world.
Measures a person's general behavioral style and preferences by looking at four main personality traits
Myers Briggs Type Indicator
Indicates different physiological preferences in how
people perceive the world and make decisions

These 3 tests can be a valuable resource and offer so much personal insight. Although the free versions make for a great introduction I would recommend hiring a trainer to work with your team or at the very least upgrade to the paid version for more detailed information on each personality type and how they interact with other personality types.
Make sure you are not just throwing information at your team but equipping your team with tools to use their new understanding on a daily basis...until it becomes second nature.
Having the knowledge and not applying it is NOT productive or helpful for anyone.
